Most of the courses are worth 2 ECTS credits.
The MOOC platform works anytime on mobile and desktop devices.
There is no charge for participating in LUT MOOC courses.
Our first MOOC focusses on solutions in the transport sector with the goals of mitigating climate change, making a transition towards sustainable energy systems, and achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Our second MOOC investigates Power to X processes, which will assist in developing energy systems that meet the needs of future generations, providing sustainable fuels and industrial materials, and ensuring that a growing global population has sufficient food and water.
Our third MOOC addresses issues related to the sustainable design and production of a wide range of goods and services that we need for a safe and comfortable existence. The things we buy have a story to tell us, one that we can control from beginning to end.
I was really excited to continue and go from one topic to another. You can make decisions for climate neutrality with your own actions and you need to think in advance of the outcomes of what you do.

The LUT MOOC is an online learning environment for LUT University’s MOOCs. MOOC stands for massive open online course and refers to courses which can be accessed online by anyone from anywhere in the world.
The first LUT MOOC “Climate Action – Solutions for Carbon Neutral Transport” was published on August 2020. The course is aimed especially for high school level students, but it is open to anyone. The solution-focused course deals with
the pursuit of carbon neutral transport and is worth 2 ECTS credits. The topic will be approached through three themes: climate change, United Nations sustainable development goals and energy systems.
The course is in English, and it can be completed independently any time according to your own schedule. The ECTS credits from the course can be included in LUT degrees.
The LUT community shares a certain attitude and state of mind. We do things differently. We look at things from unexpected perspectives, we question, and we search for solutions. We fight for a better world – for all that is good.
We are a community where curious people inspire curious people. The curious dive deep into their passion, and develop their thinking daily. Without curiosity, we cannot change the world. A curious person experiments, fails, and succeeds faster than
others.
We address issues that matter to the world and that others may consider impossible to solve. Our campuses are located in Lappeenranta and Lahti, but our state of mind can be achieved anywhere.
